What is the Professional Mindfulness Support group?

A warm welcome to our new Professional Mindfulness Support Group or PMSG. This informal monthly drop in group is open to anyone who has completed some form of professional mindfulness training and who is either currently utilising mindfulness in some professional capacity or has the intention in doing so in the near future.

This group is a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with our mindfulness practice, professional skills and other mindfulness professionals. Above all it is an opportunity to spend time in a safe and nurturing space in the spirit of maintaining our professional development as well as our sense of balance, wellbeing and self-compassion.

Everyone is welcome, whether you currently use mindfulness skills regularly in your professional practice or whether you do so very little or are just thinking about starting out in professional mindfulness practice and or teaching. If you haven’t completed a professional mindfulness training then please consider our Certified Mindfulness Practitioner training.

It was great to touch base after finishing the professional training. The Professional Mindfulness Support Group session gave me a chance to think about and discuss the more practical aspects of being a professional practitioner. The conversations with other participants enabled me to focus on my personal interests and get ideas about creating a programme in an authentic way. The discussions were very much led by the participants which was useful as it met our needs and we were able to tap into Robert’s expertise. Marianne Fiore, Education consultant & teacher

The afternoon programme

October theme: Mindfulness Based Pain Management Strategies for Professionals with Caroline Rice-Varian

We begin the session with a short silent mindfulness practice and group introductions. We will then have our guest speakers present their monthly topic. We then have an opportunity for peer teaching where you can guide a formal meditation practice of your choice in pairs followed by peer feedback. We end the afternoon with a Q&A based on any challenges or questions you might have, followed by discussion and short closing meditation.

I really enjoyed attending the recent Professional Mindfulness Support Group, it was a great opportunity to spend time with fellow practitioners; exploring how to best use mindfulness in a professional capacity, sharing ideas and continuing to develop my own understanding of mindfulness. Taking time out to practice with others is a rewarding experience in itself. Highly recommended. David Mayes, Leadership coach & trainer

Will I receive a CPD certificate?

Yes, each participant will receive a 3 hour Continuing Professional Development certificate which can count to your overall CPD hours.
