One to One Course
Mindfulness in simple terms means awareness. Sometimes, in life we can be faced with worrying situations and difficulties. In an attempt to make sense of these difficulties we often and naturally so experience stress and unhappiness. At times we get stuck in these reactive mental states and need support moving forwards. Mindfulness is an ancient approach applicable to modern day living. It is an approach rooted in non-judgmentally befriending our situation with more awareness, self-compassion and skill. It is this unique befriending that gives us the opportunity to foster a more positive and meaningful relationship with our very own lives.
Reuben’s journey through the mindfulness course
Reuben is an English teacher living in Vietnam. He took part in the One to One Mindfulness course via Zoom.
The NHS and the UK National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) now endorses Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) as an effective treatment for various health conditions including depression.

The 6-Week Mindfulness Based course is personally tailored to your needs and will support you on a deeply personally level through your journey to a greater sense of mental and emotional wellbeing. This course is backed by modern Neuroscience and ancient meditation practice and is taught in a light hearted and practical way, making it applicable to daily life. Our Mindfulness for Life 6 Week One to One course is based on the Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) approach. All courses are led by Robert Gebka – international author of Managing Depression with Mindfulness for Dummies.

About your mindfulness therapists: Julia and Robert
The courses are taught by either Robert and or Julia. Dr. Julia Forster, Ph.D. is an Educational Psychologist and MBSR Teacher. She started her career in mental health nursing during which time she became very interested in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) as an empowering tool for those with anxiety, depression and eating disorders. Moving on to teach nurses and then into further education and teacher training, Julia’s interest in CBT extended to consider how such approaches could be adapted to support professionals in managing the emotional complexities of their roles. Julia has a deep passion for exploring how mindfulness can be used to support people in their efforts to enhance their sense of happiness and wellbeing.
Robert Gebka is a Qualified MBSR Mindfulness Teacher with the University of California San Diego Medical School, USA. He is former Buddhist monk who lived, worked and trained for five years at the Nan Hua Zen Buddhist monastery before joining the NHS. He is also a psychological counsellor and the author Managing Depression with Mindfulness for Dummies. Robert studied the neuroscience and physiology of mindfulness with Neuragy UK and is a registered member of the British Association of Mindfulness Based Approaches (BAMBA).

Where are the sessions held?
All sessions are normally held at the luxurious Consulting Centre near Westbourne, Bournemouth, Dorset. However at this time our session are delivered online via Zoom.
The sessions are currently delivered via Zoom. This way of engaging in mindfulness training has proven to be extremely effective. All you need is an internet connection or access to a telephone.
What you will need
A PC/Laptop/Macbook or Tablet with a stable internet connection as well as a webcam and microphone. (this is usually build into the device so no need for an external one)
A private space where you can be undisturbed and were you can enjoy the sessions feeling safe.

We are more than happy to assist you with this if needed. We are also more than happy for you to have a “test ride” and connect with you via zoom prior to the course to ensure that all is working as it needs to.
